Manager of Finance (Greenrock)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Greenrock Manager of Finance is responsible for all accounting functions and is responsible for assisting the Managing Director achieve the goal of operating the organization with a net zero budget. This is a full-time position that involves high value assets and reputational risk for the organization. This role is on-site, 5 days a week with occasional flexibility to work from home at the manager’s discretion.

The Greenrock Corporation advances the National Trust’s Mission by providing property management services to historic property owned by the National Trust, including ongoing maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, landscaping, security, and conservation.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTY/RESPONSIBILITY

  • Oversees and controls all aspects of monthly accounting procedures, including entering basic data (printing checks, Client billing, labor database, payroll) creating and entering all General Ledger Journal Entries to produce monthly trial balance, as basis for monthly accounts and reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring bank accounts, making transfers between accounts as needed, funding payroll and other financial needs, reconciling accounts, maintaining relationship with local bank.
  • Produces monthly & annual financial reports for NTHP. Works with NTHP staff to finalize year-end financials for accounting & tax purposes.
  • Monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transiions.
  • Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management.
  • Assists the Managing Director with budget forecasting and development of yearly budgets.
  • Provides back up for HR Coordinator for weekly payroll as needed.
  • Responsible for acting as liaison with external auditors to provide financial data for year-end audit and respond to inquiries.
  • Responsible for all bank deposits and withdrawals.
  • Responsible for creation of client monthly invoices in Crystal Reports.
  • Responsible for calculating and paying monthly estimated NYS sales tax and quarterly actual sales & use tax.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Must be able to adjust schedule to work off hours as needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Word.

  • Promptly report any accidents or damage to van to supervisor. Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies, contacting authorities and/or supervisor as appropriate and helping to ensure an overall safe working environment.

PAY & BENEFITS

This is a full-time, exempt level position, eligible for full benefits, including affordable health, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement plan contributions, plus vacation, sick time and holidays.

Hiring Range: $75,000-85,000 per year
