HOPE Crew Storytelling Internship

Department: 2024 Internships
Location:

PROJECT SUMMARY

Since 2014, HOPE Crew (which stands for Hands-On Preservation Experience) has helped to empower a new generation of preservationists by completing 175 projects, training more than 802 young people—including veterans—and engaging over 3,750 volunteers in historic preservation trades. The intern will aid HOPE Crew in collecting content, data, and metrics on HOPE Crew projects and participants for the program’s 10th Anniversary. They will also work with our HOPE Crew Manager to create an effective tracking system to keep in touch with past and future participants. In addition to outreach to past program partners, the intern will use creative data collection methods such as surveys and social media posts and polls to explore how HOPE Crew has impacted past participants’ studies, hobbies, and careers.

The intern will explore storytelling through interviewing past participants, drafting social media posts, and developing short articles for savingplaces.org and other National Trust channels. Other duties may include assisting the HOPE Crew team with scheduling and project coordination (e.g. transportation scheduling, catering orders, itinerary creation, etc.)

National Trust internships are temporary, volunteer experiential learning opportunities with no expectation of employment at the conclusion of the internship.

For this internship, the National Trust is offering a stipend of $4,000 to help offset expenses. The internship period would be June 10 – August 2. 2024 for approximately 28 hours per week (some flexibility of schedule available).
